I firmly believe that every woman should have boudoir photos taken at least once in her life.
This is a bold statement, I know. And it may be true that many woman may feel like this type of photo shoot is not for them, that they are too shy, too large, too old. Maybe you think this is not for you because you are a mother of two, or a single girl without a date on the foreseeable horizon. Regardless of where you are in your life right now, I promise you that you need to have a boudoir session, and in fact those of you who are shaking your heads right now in disbelive need it the very, very most.
I know you are not convinced and you may even be questioning my sanity at this point, so bear with me as I try to explain.
Let's start at the beginning...
What is Boudoir Photography?
Well let me tell you what it is not.
It is not pornography, you will showing about the same amount of skin as you would in a bathing suit. It's also really not about the lucky person who gets to see the images either, (although they make a lovely gift). It is truly about female empowerment and celebrating your femininity. The experience will be far more important to you than the end product. Boudoir is also not about perfection. Trust me on this!!!! I had put off my own session with a photographer I admired for years because I did not think my body was worthy, I thought the next time he offered it I would be more fit, more fierce, more something but years went by and I still felt it was unattainable, that another time would be better. The end result is that I never had the courage to own and love the body I was in. But once I did it I was so proud of my self and so glad I did. I want every woman to have this gift for herself, to see herself the way only a photographer can, I want you to be brave and celebrate your self right now exactly as you are.
When should I have a boudoir session? Any time!!! But most importantly, don't wait as long as I did hoping that you will be some one who deserves this later, only to find out that later never really comes. Celebrate the now. Other really great times to have a session, or to come back for a second session are; weddings, anniversaries, Valentine's, birthdays, girl's nights, bachelorette parties, divorce parties (seriously that is really a thing now). There is also a growing trend for "Dudoire" (male boudoir) and steamy couples sessions, as of this post date I have not shot either of those styles but I would love to, so contact me ASAP for a deeply discounted portfolio rate on those two frontiers of portraiture!
Other important things you should know about a boudoir session:
- Your photos are completely private they will never be used for my marketing purposes. They arrive to you in a password protected private digital album. I can assist you in getting prints, a pin up magazine, or lover's look book made through a reputable print house, if you like.
- Sexy is does not necessarily mean nudity if you feel brave you can bare it all, or imply that it's bare or keep yourself under wraps totally. Sexy is an attitude so you can flaunt as much or little as you feel comfortable with.
- One last tip from this old married lady... Making the photos often results in frisky wives, so try to plan for some alone time with your sweetie after the shoot. Wink, wink, nudge, nudge (and you're welcome). On that note, I would also like to remind husbands, this makes a great gift for your wife!!
"You're going to get me addicted to getting my photo taken. You make me look so pretty!!"
"OMG They are amazing! I feel so sexy! Thank you, thank you, thank you!!"
"That was sooooo much fun!!!! Thanks :) I wanna do it again!"
"Thank you sooo much! We had such a blast! Xoxo"
